Author extraordinaire Janet Evanovich who has written many best-selling Novels, has released the latest book in her Stephanie Plum series. The 31st book, entitled Now or Never is the book many fans have waited over a year for, where Stephanie Plum makes the decision on who she marries, Ranger or Joe Morelli.
In book 30, Dirty Thirty, she said yes to Ranger and Morelli’s wedding proposals, which was a massive cliffhanger. It has felt like a long year waiting for Now or Never to see who she gets hitched with. And yes, a decision was made, but don’t jump ahead to see who she chose, read the book from the first page!
Now or Never has our favorite bounty hunter Stephanie tracking down a murderer named Zoran, who is biting girls on the neck and murdering in such gruesome ways to make it appear that he is a vampire, which of course scars the heck out of Stephanie’s partner Lula! There is also a YouTube star named Eugene Fleck who may or may not be a character named Robin Hoodie that Stephanie needs to investigate! Robin Hoodie is a massively popular personality on YouTube, as he steals from the rich and gives to the homeless. She is also asked to capture a rich gangster named Bruno Jug who sells produce who also might be trafficking underage girls!
While tracking these would be criminals, she is avoiding both Ranger and Morelli until she can decide who she will marry, and she is struggling to stay away from both men. On top of that, another man, a former high-school classmate, Herbert Slovinsky who enters Stephanie’s life, making things even more difficult, as he is interested in having romantic memories with her. As if two men weren’t enough!
I think Now or Never is a great read from start to finish, just like the rest of the books in the series. If you are unfamiliar with Janet Evanovich’s Novels, I can strongly suggest reading all her Stephanie Plum books, as they are funny, vulgar, with romance and mystery to make these highly entertaining. The characters in Stephanie Plum’s universe are incredibly compelling, from the two men in her life, Ranger and Morelli. Then, there is her friend Lula, a former ho turned into Stephanie’s assistant bounty hunter when trying to capture people who missed their court date. Stephanie’s family also has plenty of whacky characters, there is Grandma Mazur who tags along with Stephanie from time to time and carries a gun. She also likes to open caskets to see dead bodies at funeral parlors. Stephanie works for her cousin Vinnie at Vinnie’s Bail Bonds. Vincent Plum is also not the most noble person in the world, taking part in various acts of perversion. Stephanie’s parents are about as “normal” as it gets, and for the most part they are!
This is my first review of a Novel for EuroCultAV, and to be honest, I have thought about writing about Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum Novels from some time because I love reading them so much!
