Out of all the big name anime shows that are currently making waves right now (Attack on Titan, Black Clover, etc) I am possibly enjoying My Hero Academia the most. Aside from the fact that after Dragon Ball Super concluded this is the one show my son and I seem to watch together on a regular basis. It is a sheer fun and exciting show, that is just endlessly compelling and watchable.
Season 2 of the show opens with a focus on the “Sports Festival” basically Quirks vs. Quirks in competition, and students try to do their best to win the grand prize, all the while showcasing the greatness of their improving abilities. After the conclusion of the Sports Festival we see the students at the Hero Academy enter into their first internships, and begin to learn to use their powers in different ways.
My Hero Academia Season 2 is just as exciting and compelling as the first season. The characters are fun to watch as they go through all new experiences, and after finishing one episode it’s almost impossible not to want to watch the next one. The animation for the show is pitch-perfect and captures the tone of the show. The accompanying score is excellent and helps create the overall atmosphere needed here.
Funimation presents My Hero Academia in a splendid 1:78:1 1080p AVC encoded transfer. Everything here looks quite nice and without issue, colors pop, and detail is excellent. Audio is handled by HD audio tracks in English and Japanese that sound crystal clear. Extras include an extra episode, shorts, and interviews. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
