OK, so I’ll start this off with some weirdness. I feel like I reviewed Undefeated Bahaumut Chronicle sometime in 2017. Now the original version of the site was torn down back in May, so I could make something easier to update, and mobile friendly, but I still have the records, but nope, not there. Anyway, I popped in the Blu-ray’s for Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle, and it seemed familiar (And if there is another copy floating around here I wouldn’t be surprised), but I did have fun with it.
The story involves the former Prince Lux of Arcadia. He has basically fallen literally and figuratively. Years before the story starts his royal family, has fallen from grace and now he must work off his debt to society by becoming a handyman to the people. While on a repair assignment, he falls through a roof, and ends up in the pool of the Royal Knight Academy an all-girls school, in which the male prince is invited to enroll if he can win his drag-ride duel with the princess he landed on.
So this is an anime about royalty who get trained to fight on mecha dragons, yeah it’s got a harem component built around Lux, who is a cliched weakling character, but did I mention MECHA DRAGONS. I have dug those since Dr. Wiley’s Castle in Mega Man 2, so yeah I’m all about this, and had a lot of fun with it.
The series is presented by Sentai in a 1:78:1 1080p AVC encoded transfer. Everything look solid, and without issue. Extras include a clean opening and closing. Audio is presented DTS-HD Audio in Japanese and English and sound clear and crisp. RECOMMENDED.
