Also known as Three Loves and The Woman Men Yearn For, The Woman One Longs For is a 1929 German tragic love story between two men and one woman, who happens to be the iconic Marlene Dietrich in one of her earliest roles. Even in these early roles, she has an incredible screen presence that dominates the film.

Based on the novel of the same title by Max Brod, published in Vienna by Paul Zsolnay Verlag in 1927, The Woman One Longs for stars the iconic actress Marlene Dietrich who stars as Stascha, a woman involved with a sinister man, Dr. Karoff (Fritz Kortner, Berlin Express). Henry Leblanc (Uno Henning, The Love of Jeanne Ney) is a young businessman who gets involved with Stascha, who is trying to escape the clutches of Dr. Karoff. This ultimately leading to disastrous results!

Kino debuts The Woman One Longs For on Blu-ray. The picture quality for this 1929 classic is simply outstanding with hardly any flaws to the image. There are a few blips here and there, but overall, the film looks clean and polished. The black and white image with the boost in contrast results in the film looking exceptionally sharp boasting great details to the characters and scenery.
